Too many parties this weekend. We're making our main business out of shooting parties and cutting promos for organizers around Tokyo. It's really sweet because we just stroll into any old VIP section that we want at any old party. Last Thursday, we shot a 2000+ people/five stories of a building rented Halloween party. Lots of fantastic costumes and a great energy.
Anyway, we're doing another party tonight. It's a slightly smaller affair. But, the same organizer.
I would like to, if I may, speak on renting equipment in Tokyo. My best advice is to learn some Japanese before you walk in the door of the rental house. I found this place in a hole in a wall in a back alley in a not-so-upscale section of town. The guy really does everything he can to help me out. He handles all the insurance and will have any equipment I need ready within 90 minutes of my calling. It's really convenient. And, his prices are retarded. For example: HXV-200, (2) 32 gig p2 cards, 12 hours worth of batteries, shoe-mount light, and batteries for the light ring in a $150 for 24 hours.
And, that's a very lenient 24 hours.
Anyway, he's a hero of sorts.
I'm going to head out soon to pick up the equipment and roll into the venue during preparation. Oh! And, the sponsor of this party is Corona. Which means I get all the free Corona I can drink. You don't know how much I love Corona. Would if I could pour it on my cereal.
Wish me luck, world.
PS. This is one of my favorite music videos ever made ever. It gives me such a good feeling.
PS. I'm including a picture that might help get you through the weekend. I know it's helping me.
